Eddie The Eagle And FCCLA Members Visit Anderson
Haywood High School students in Mrs. Denita Jarratt’s Honors Human Services class and Mrs. Sarah Haynes’ Child and Lifespan Development class, along with Eddie Eagle, worked on gun safety with kindergarteners from Anderson Early Childhood Center recently.
Students were shown a cartoon video of Eddie Eagle who flew around a city and warned kids of the dangers of guns. In the video he told via song and dance that if they found a gun to “stop, don’t touch, leave the area, tell an adult.”
Following the video, the high schools students practiced the song and dance with the kindergartners to help them remember what to do if they find a gun.
Eddie the Eagle joined in and visited each classroom giving out coloring books, stickers, and certificates.
The Eddie the Eagle Gun Safety program is sponsored by The Brownsville Police Department and the National Rifle Association. This is also part of Haywood High School’s FCCLA STOP the Violence campaign.
