ES students learning Yoga
Students in East Side’s extended learning program are extending their knowledge about strength, flexibility, and knowledge of their inner self through yoga! Each Wednesday the students participate in yoga sessions provided by Coordinated School Health, who is partnering with the Extended Learning Program in this project. They have learned about the history and purpose of yoga, as well as increased their skills in performing many of the yoga poses. I think it’s a good sign when they ask if “we’re going to have yoga this week?” What a great way to increase physical activity and have fun while learning!
