GEAR UP sponsors Lambuth Tour
Haywood County GEAR UP TN sponsored at trip for sophomores and parents to tour the University of Memphis at Lambuth on April 19. Students and teachers met Adam Johnson and Anna-Marie Smith, Enrollment Service Counselors, upon their arrival on the campus. First, students gathered in Womack Chapel for a job site visit with Mr. Johnson to learn about his prior educational experiences and his career as an admissions counselor. Next, they learned about the history of the Lambuth campus and how they need to prepare for a postsecondary education after high school. Student ambassador tour guides walked students around the campus to tell them about the different buildings, the degree programs offered on campus, and their experiences on the campus as a student. Students were able to view residence halls, the administration building, the classroom buildings, and they toured Wilder Student Union and the fitness center. Haywood County GEAR UP TN helps to prepare students for college and a career and their knowledge of and access to financial assistance for a post-secondary education
