Nineteen seniors from Haywood High School and the Haywood High School REACH Academy walked the halls and classrooms to learn about the programs at the Tennessee College of Applied Technology at Whiteville on January 21 as part of their campus tour. Students got a first-hand look at several programs, including computer technology, HVAC, nursing, auto technician, welding, machine tech, industrial electricity, and administrative office technology.

Students and staff from the college led groups on the tour and introduced them to the facilities, faculty and programs at the school.

Haywood County GEAR UP TN provided the tour for the students and wants to make sure students will be fully aware of all the college opportunities that they will have available to them when they graduate from high school.

Beginning with this class, the Class of 2015, the Tennessee Promise will provide Tennessee high school graduates the opportunity to attend a community college or any of the state’s 27 technical colleges free of tuition and fees.Gear Up TCAT 2 web GEAR UP TCAT 3 web
