HES Awards Programs recognize students for success
At the Fifth Six Weeks Awards Program at Haywood Elementary, the character trait for the six weeks was “ Caring,” and students from first and second grades were selected to receive a special award for their caring nature. Teachers nominate a student from their classroom that possesses the specified trait and then one student is selected from those who have been nominated.
The Rotary club recognized a second-grade student who had perfect attendance for the six weeks and presented a bicycle to that student. The Brownsville Police Department donated a helmet to the lucky little boy!
Two second-grade students and one first-grade student were recognized for their use of the Family Resource Center. These girls will have their names added to the Reading Wall of Fame.
Students are preparing for the Sat 10 Test which will be given next week. Mrs. Riddle reminded the parents and students of the importance of being on time and present each day of the testing period. She told the students that this was their chance to shine and show off how much they have learned this year.
