HES Students Earn Recognition For Their Accomplishments
Haywood Elementary School held its 2nd Nine Weeks awards program of this school year on January 17. In addition to student recognition for academics, character, behavior and attendance, the Rotary Club presented a bicycle to a third-grade student for perfect attendance.
First State bank recognized a teacher from each grade level for their service to our students. The first-grade teacher selected was Ms. Lana Hester, the second-grade teacher was Mrs. Rachel Winberry, and the third-grade teacher was Mrs. Pamla Reagan.
The Family Resource Center presented awards to students whose names were added to the Reading Wall of Fame as well as whole class participation.
Mr. Barry Sceals spoke with the students about the area Girl’s Softball team sign-ups and revealed that Brownsville will be hosting a tournament, which will bring many visitors to our town this year.
A representative from the Girl Scouts was also present, enrolling girls in the program.
