HMS offers a special “Thank You”
Haywood Middle School Principal Yvette Blue and her administrative team were hosts to a “thank you” luncheon for Haywood County Sheriff Melvin Bond and his team of officers. Each school year, Sheriff Bond assigns deputies to escort the HMS Warrior football and basketball teams to all of their away games. In addition to the away games, the security detail at HMS during home games is from the Haywood County Sheriff’s Department. Also, each year, the Sheriff’s Department is present at the eighth-grade Promotion Ceremony, providing security as well as managing traffic.
Principal Blue shares, “We are thankful for the protection provided by our Sheriff’s Department. When it comes to our children, safety is always the first line of business, whether on or off campus, and my team and I appreciate the support. We look forward to continuing this partnership with the Haywood County Sheriff’s Department.”
