How Spider Saved Halloween
Kindergarten students in Mrs. Shead’s class at Anderson recently enjoyed reading the story How Spider Saved Halloween, by Robert Kraus with School Health Coordinator Cindy Smith. Before the story, they practiced question-asking skills by guessing what was in the “IZIT” box … guess what it was … a SPIDER! After the story, they made spiders out of baby oranges and pretzels. They learned about the vitamins in oranges and what part of their bodies that vitamin helps. After they made their spiders, they ate them! Whoever thought learning about reading, language, and nutrition could be so fun?
