The Brownsville-Haywood County Arts Council recently sponsored a “Poetry Out Loud” contest at Haywood High School.  HHS Principal Latonya Jackson joined the winners,  1^st place winner Massai Twitty, 2^nd place winner Destiny Medina, 3^rd place winner Breonica Reed, and 4^th place winner Tyesha Starks. Maasai will advance to the state competition the first week in March. The winners received $100, $75, $50, and $25 awards.
