Tennessee State Senator Dolores Gresham came to speak to East Side’s Student Council representatives on October 12. She spoke to students about leadership and the government “Body Politic.”

Senator Gresham mentioned the importance of registering to vote and actually voting! Being registered to vote and not exercising that right means you have no say in decisions being made. Not voting allows citizens to make the decision in the absence of the non-voters. There is power in voting!
