Students Collect Teddy Bears For Le Bonheur Patients
Several Haywood High School classes in the Career and Technical Department recently completed a community service project. Mrs. Sarah Haynes’ Teaching as a Profession class and Mrs. Denita Jarratt’s FACS Honors class worked with the Mrs. Tiffany Thomas and the 4-H Honors Club to collect Teddy Bears for the patients at Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital in Memphis and the Brownsville Police Department. The two classes collaborated with each other and the 4-H Honors Club and decided to ask all students of Haywood High School to bring a Teddy Bear to school on Friday, February 7, to donate to these two wonderful causes. Along with collecting a large amount of Teddy Bears, the students that planned the project were allowed to go to Le Bonheur and personally deliver the Teddy Bears just in time for Valentine’s Day. In total, 219 bears were collected.
