Tomcats Celebrate Homecoming 2014
The Haywood High School Tomcats pulled out all the stops to make a “roaring” production of the 2014 Homecoming parade. With close to 60 entries, and participation from the other schools, Main Street was lined with spectators enjoying the floats and other participants for more than an hour. The theme this year was “Rumble in the Jungle,” as Haywood played the Ripley Tigers. The Sophomores won the float contest and the Hall Decoration contest, and the Freshmen won the Powder Puff game and the Spirit award at the Pep Rally.
During the Homecoming ceremony during halftime Friday night, Mary Catherine Currie was crowned Queen, Idalias Flagg was selected as first maid, and Pamela Castro as second maid. Others in the court were Mireya Pulido, Abbey Morris, and McKenzie Scott.
