Two HHS students win SWTEC writing contest
Southwest Tennessee Electric is proud to announce the winners of the 2013 Washington Youth Tour Creative Writing Contest. Students were asked to write a short story entitled “Electric Cooperatives: Powering Your Community.” The story describes how electric cooperatives contribute to the quality of life in the areas they serve. This year’s winners will travel to Washington D.C. in June for an expense-paid tour of our nation’s capital.
Haywood High School’s trip winner is Mary Claiborne Sharpe, and the $75.00 cash winner is Kaimen Pickens.
